The Dual Wavelength Fractionated Laser Resurfacing treatment is a revolutionary technology and is considered the gold standard to repair and improve skin texture and tone. The laser treatment works by creating thousands of micro columns with two wavelengths (depths), which allows the technician to treat both surface and deep concerns. It only treats a fraction of the skin (20-25%) and leaves surrounding skin unharmed. This healthy skin plays an important function in the recovery process by creating new, healthy tissue. This stimulates a process called collagen remodelling that tightens skin and refines texture.
The procedure begins with the application of topical numbing cream to help maximize comfort. Once numbed, the technician passes the laser over the skin a several times in vertical and horizontal directions, and a warm prickling sensation is felt, which most clients describe as tolerable.
Immediately after the treatment, the skin is very red and slightly swollen, and the skin begins to form within 24 hours. Sun exposure must be avoided during the recovery process and only gentle skincare should be used. Makeup can be applied 2 to 4 days after treatment. Over the next 3 to 14 days, your skin will create micro scabs that have a bronzed appearance and will then exfoliate off. A broad spectrum sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30 must be applied twice a day during healing and then for several months after treatment.t
