‘Smoker’s Lines’ or ‘Lipstick Lines’ are vertical lines and wrinkles that appear around the mouth. These lines are not necessarily caused by smoking, but rather from repetitive contractions of the orbicularious orbis muscle which encircles the mouth and controls it’s movement. While aging skin is the main culprit associated with smokers lines, sun exposure, frequent puckering and use of straws are habits that may contribute to the prominence of smokers lines.
